  LA PLATA HOME PRESS, La Plata, Missouri October 22, 1964. GEORGE BLOOM ---George Bloom, 52, son of Mrs. Virlinda Bloom Wilson, was killed Sunday afternoon in a two car accident south of Quincy, Illinois on Rte. 96. His wife Maxine and daughter Oleta was injured in the accident. ---The family had spent the day with Mrs. Wilson and were en-route to their home in Decatur, Illinois when the accident occurred. ---He was the son of Ira and Virlinda (Collins) Bloom and was born in Macon County on November 10, 1911. ---He was married to Maxine Ratliff in Kirksville on February 11, 1939. One child was born to this union. ---He was preceded in death by his father. ---Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Virlinda Bloom Wilson of La Plata; his wife, Maxine and daughter, Oleta, both of Decatur. ---The Blooms had made their home in Decatur for the past ten years where they operated the Primio Pizza Company Inc. ---He was a member of the Great Light Lodge No. 1964, AF & AM of Decatur. ---Masonic services were held Tuesday night at the Wilson Funeral Home conducted by La Plata Lodge Nol. 237. ---Services were held yesterday (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stanley East conducting the services. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery. ---Bearers were John Norman, Kenneth and Clinton Ratliff, Woodrow Waller and Beryl Cragg. ---Mrs. Bloom is the daughter of Mrs. J.T. Ratliff of Kirksville. Mrs. Bloom and Oleta are patients at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hannibal.
